Protein description

Actin from rabbit skeletal muscle is a single chain polypeptide with a molecular weight of 42kD consisting of 375 amino acids. ATTO490LS-Actin is chemically modified G-actin with an ATTO490 fluorescent group covalently bound to lysine residues. The dye is characterized by an enormous stokes shift of 165nm, which entirely separates the absorption from the emission spectrum. This allows multicolor experiments with e.g. ATTO488 and ATTO514.

ATTO490LS-Actin (λex 496nm, λem 661nm) possesses the polymerization properties of native G-actin. 

Conjugation ratio

This product is supplied with a degree of labelling (DOL) between 0.5 and 0.8. The precise DOL is stated in the DataSheet supplied with the product.

2mM Tris-Cl pH 8.2, 0.4mM ATP, 0.5mM DTT, 0.1mM CaCl2, 1mM NaN3 and 0.3% disaccharides, when reconstituted with 100 µl ultrapure water to obtain a 1mg/ml solution.

ATTO-Actins are stored at –70°C upon arrival and will be stable in performance for at least 6 months from the date of purchase. Solubilized ATTO-Actin is kept on ice and should be used within 1 week. Avoid refreezing.
