Protein description
|
Heavy Meromyosin obtained by limited chymotryptic cleavage of myosin II from rabbit psoas muscle has a molecular mass of 150kD. HMM consists of the active motor domain with the two head domains (the actin- and ATP- binding sites.) connected by the S2 regions and two pairs of essential light chain (ELC) and regulatory light chain (RLC).
HMM is frequently used to determine the polarity of actin filaments in electron microscopy.
