A ready-to-start assay system for investigating ligand interactions with monomeric actin.

The Hypermol® G-Actin Binding Toolkit is designed to examine binding of proteins, pharmacological compounds and other ligands to monomeric G-actin. The assay is available with rabbit skeletal muscle α-actin or bovine cardiac α-actin.

G-actin is immobilized on ActinBeads, allowing actin-associated material to be separated from the surrounding solution by low-speed centrifugation. The system therefore provides a practical format for direct G-actin binding studies and for investigating how proteins, lipids or pharmacological compounds influence ligand–G-actin interactions.
