Fluorescence protection at its best.

For single-protein imaging and cell imaging.

FluMaXx is a fluorescence protection reagent based on an oxygen-scavenger system. It is designed to reduce photon-induced damage and photobleaching during fluorescence microscopy, helping samples remain imageable for longer observation times and more demanding imaging workflows.

The reagent is useful when fluorescence signal stability becomes limiting: single-protein experiments, sensitive microscopy samples, time-lapse acquisition, repeated imaging, comparative assay readouts or cell-imaging setups where radical-induced sample damage can reduce data quality.

Hypermol® FluMaXx fluorescence protection reagent

Protect fluorescence signal
Oxygen scavenging helps limit radical formation and reduces fluorescence loss during imaging.

For up to 50 samples
The product format is sufficient to prepare 50 samples, supporting repeated experiments and comparative imaging series.

Oxygen-scavenger protection for demanding fluorescence microscopy

Photobleaching and photon-induced sample damage are major limitations in fluorescence microscopy. Reactive oxygen species can impair fluorophores, proteins and cellular structures during illumination. FluMaXx addresses this problem by reducing oxygen-dependent radical formation during imaging.

Use FluMaXx when image quality depends on signal persistence: long exposures, repeated frames, sensitive fluorophores, single-molecule experiments, low-signal protein imaging or cell-based microscopy where sample preservation is critical for interpretation.

Key advantages
  • Designed to reduce photobleaching during fluorescence imaging.
  • Helps protect proteins and cells from radical-induced damage.
  • Supports longer observation windows and repeated imaging.
  • Useful for sensitive single-protein and cell-imaging workflows.
  • Practical format for preparing multiple imaging samples.
Common applications
  • Single-protein and single-molecule fluorescence imaging.
  • Cell imaging with photobleaching-sensitive fluorophores.
  • Time-lapse and repeated-acquisition microscopy.
  • High-resolution imaging with extended illumination.
  • Comparative imaging experiments requiring stable signal output.

Product value
FluMaXx enables more stable fluorescence observation and helps reduce loss of signal during illumination. The reagent is especially valuable when the sample is difficult to prepare, the protein is limiting, or the imaging experiment requires repeated acquisition from the same field of view.

Experimental reliability
Stable signal is essential when comparing samples, treatments or time points. Fluorescence protection helps keep imaging conditions more consistent across acquisition series.
When to use
Use FluMaXx when illumination intensity, acquisition duration or fluorophore sensitivity limits your experiment. It is particularly useful for demanding microscopy protocols.
Sample economy
For precious proteins, rare samples or labor-intensive preparations, reducing photodamage helps preserve more usable imaging time from each sample.
