Tropomyosin/Troponin complex for regulated muscle thin filaments

A thin-filament regulatory protein complex for Ca²⁺-dependent control of Myosin II interaction with actin in striated muscle models.

The Tropomyosin/Troponin complex controls whether Myosin II can productively interact with actin filaments. Tropomyosin lies along the actin filament, while the troponin subunits sense Ca²⁺, inhibit actomyosin interaction in the relaxed state and transmit the calcium signal into a structural shift that opens the thin filament for contraction.

Hypermol® Tropomyosin/Troponin contains tropomyosin together with Troponin C, Troponin I and Troponin T. It is suited for reconstituted sliding-filament assays, regulated actomyosin ATPase workflows and experiments investigating how calcium signaling controls thin-filament activation in striated muscle systems.

Troponin C
Ca²⁺-sensing subunit that initiates calcium-dependent thin-filament activation.
Troponin I/T
Inhibitory and tropomyosin-binding subunits that couple Ca²⁺ sensing to actomyosin access.
Tropomyosin track
Positions along F-actin to regulate myosin-binding site availability.
