A pure focal adhesion protein for studying talin-vinculin interaction, actin binding, adhesion maturation and mechanosensitive cytoskeletal coupling.

Vinculin is a single-chain polypeptide with an apparent molecular mass of approximately 116 kDa. It is an autoinhibited multiligand-binding protein of focal contacts and cell-cell adhesion structures, where it helps connect adhesion complexes to the actin cytoskeleton.

Hypermol® Vinculin contains an F-actin-binding domain in the tail region and is especially useful for experiments investigating focal adhesion strengthening, talin-vinculin coupling, force-sensitive adhesion maturation and the mechanical link between membrane-associated adhesion proteins and actin filaments.
