Actin - an example of high quality
- We offer first grade actins only. The high quality of our skeletal muscle actin for example, is pronounced by its preparation from a single muscle type only, musculus lattisimus dorsi.
- Due to our long-term expertise in actin purification, the final products have excellent polymerization kinetics which displays the high purity of the products.
- Purity of actin is determined by scanning densitometry of Coomassie Blue G-250 stained SDS-gels (15%) and protein concentrations are routinely determined by UV-VIS spectroscopy.
- Polymerization of lyophilized actin is batchwise determined by Ostwald viscometry and fluorometry with pyren actin (10%). The steady state viscosity for example is no less than 95% of the actin prior to freeze-drying.
- A special cryoconservation method highly preserves the structural integrity of our proteins, resulting in a maximally restored biological activity.
