Product description

Rapid staining of single actin filaments with highly photostable 465-Phalloidin. Phalloidin is a bicyclic peptide of a family of toxins isolated from the Amanita phalloides “death cap” mushroom. The peptide is commonly used as a selective stain or counterstain to specifically label F-actin in fixed or permeabilized cells, and cell-free experiments.

Labelled phalloidin conjugates bind in a stoichiometric ratio of about one phallotoxin per actin subunit in both muscle and non-muscle cells, and have similar affinity for both large and small filaments. Phalloidins do not bind to monomeric actin and have a stabilizing effect on F-actin. 

465-Phalloidin has a strong pink fluorescence of high brightness and superior photostability.

Buffer

Reconstitute in 50µl MeOH, DMSO or DMF. Dilute 5µl of the phalloidin stock with 500µl PBS and apply to stain  the sample.
