Adenosine-5'-diphosphate (ADP) is used to study energy storage and metabolism in vivo. Proteins like actin and myosin have a functional ATPase activity, where ADP is used for analysis.

Quantity

Powder: 100mM ADP, 20mM Hepes titrated with NaOH to pH 7.4. Sterile filtered prior to freeze-drying. Weigh directly into the tube 250 mg of ultrapure H₂O, corresponding to 250 µl ultrapure H₂O, to obtain a fresh 100mM stock solution.

Storage instructions

ADP powder is stored at –20°C upon arrival. The product will be stable in performance for at least 1 year from the date of purchase. Solubilized ADP can be aliquoted and stored at -70°C for use within 3 months. Thawed aliquots should be used within 1 week. Avoid refreezing.
