CryoProtect plus DTT is a glycerol containing freezing protectant to reconstitute freeze-dryed proteins for long term storage.The ready-to-use freezing medium is suited for many cytoskeletal proteins. CryoProtect contains 100mM NaCl, 10mM Imidazol pH 7.4 and includes 1 ml of a 500mM DTT solution as a powder to be reconstitued before use.
Proteins demanding the presence of e.g. ATPshould be supplemented prior to the addition of CryoProtect plus DTT.
For storage of myosin II, NEM-myosin II and other proteins soluble in high salt buffers above 250mM NaCl, CryoProtect HS plus DTT is recommended..
The freezing medium is added 1:2 v/v to protein solutions for storage at -20°C, for maximum preservation of biological activity. Ready-to-use.
