Myosin S1 obtained by limited papain cleavage of myosin II Heavy Meromyosin HMM from rabbit psoas muscle has a molecular mass of 110kD.

Myosin S1 is the motor domain of myosin II, which contains the actin- and ATP- binding site.

Binds to F-actin.
