| Applications |
Motility assays, actin-based assays and biochemical assays. |
Description
| |
| Protein |
Myosin S1, fragment of myosin II from m. psoas |
| Origin |
Skeletal muscle, rabbit |
| Molecular mass |
110 kDa |
| Protein description |
Myosin S1 is obtained by limited papain cleavage of myosin II heavy meromyosin (HMM) from rabbit psoas muscle. The fragment has a molecular mass of approximately 110 kDa.
Myosin S1 represents the motor domain of myosin II and contains the actin-binding and ATP-binding sites. It is therefore well suited for biochemical assays addressing actomyosin interaction, ATPase activity and actin-dependent motor function. |
| Actin interaction |
Binds to F-actin. |
